Hi there, my name is Chris! I've just finished a two-year contract teaching English to two Grade 6 classes in Wuhan, China, as part of an International Program. Before that, I was a School Principal at the American School of Murcia in Spain, where I managed twenty-two staff. Even while leading the school, I still taught within the classroom, as being a teacher is my passion. That experience as school principal really cemented how important differentiation and personalised learning is. Every child learns differently, and my job is to make sure lessons work for them—within a broad, balanced curriculum. As an ex-school principal, I am passionate about a child's safety and the progress that they make in every lesson. At the end of the day, I want every child to full potential. I adapt my teaching to fit their learning styles, create a safe and supportive environment, and give them a real say in their own learning. I have high expectations, but I also give them the confidence and tools to meet them. I have experience with online teaching, using many different platforms, including, Showbie, Teams, Google Classroom, Google Hangout, Class Dojo, Nearpod and using many other software programs. I. I've been a teacher for 14 years with a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and UK QTS, and I've had 'outstanding' lesson observations throughout my career. I'm a team player, pretty gregarious, and totally committed to helping every pupil make real progress. Thanks for reading—hope to hear from you and teach your child very soon!

“This is to certify that Chris Jones has worked for Wuhan Haidan Foreign Language Shiyan School since August 20th, 2A24 until August 2026. Mr. Jones is deeply invested in the success, development, and safety of his students. He designed our current 6th grade curriculum and works to meet the needs of each student while challenging them to achieve their full potential" He places great importance on developing the students' personal responsibility and independence. He has implemented a number of systems in his class that allows the students to track their own progress and ensure they have completed their work each week. Mr. Jones joined our team with a lot of experience and offered a lot of valuable insights. He introduced a color-coded self-assessrnent system for the students to identify how they did within a lesson based or the stated success criteria at the start of the lesson. This again served to encourage the students to take personal ownership of their learning. He also introduced a lot of new projects into the class that really engaged the students. For example, the students had to design a robot, create an advertisement for the robot, and then pitch their robots to a panel of teachers and try to convince tire teachers to buy the robots. Although he has many years of experience. Mr. .iones is also always trying to learn and apply new approaches in his teachings. He quickly adapted to using a lot of technology in the classroom and created numerous review games the students could use on their tablets, that he purchased for the class. He regularly takes part and had led the school's professional development sessions and participates in the discussion. His insights often challenged his co-workers to think more deeply about their own practice. Overall. he has been a valuable asset for the international program and an excellent and collaborative team member. I believe he would make a valuable addition to any team or to support any child with their learning. I would strongly recommend him for any position that he chose to apply for.”
