Booking lessons

How do I book a lesson?

Browse tutors on the Find tutors page, open a tutor's profile, and click 'Book a lesson'. You'll choose a date, time, and lesson duration, then pay securely by card.

Can I book a recurring lesson?

Currently each lesson is booked individually. Recurring and package bookings are on the roadmap.

How far in advance can I book?

You can book as far in advance as the tutor's availability allows. Most tutors keep their calendar updated weekly.

Payments & refunds

When am I charged?

Your card is authorised at the point of booking but only charged after your lesson completes. If you cancel more than 12 hours before the lesson, no charge is taken.

What's the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 12 hours before your lesson starts. Cancellations within 12 hours are non-refundable per our cancellation policy.

When do I receive a refund?

Refunds are issued within 5–10 business days back to your original payment method.

What payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported.

Online classroom

Do I need to download anything?

No. The Tutorvine classroom runs entirely in your browser. Video, whiteboard, and shared notes are all built in.

When does the classroom open?

The classroom link becomes active 30 minutes before your lesson starts. You'll also receive a reminder email 24 hours and 1 hour before.

What if the video doesn't work?

Make sure your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone. Chrome and Firefox work best. If you're still having issues, contact us.

Tutor availability

What if my tutor cancels?

You'll be notified immediately and receive a full refund. You can then rebook with the same tutor or find another.

How do I know when a tutor is available?

Each tutor manages their own availability. When you open their profile and select a lesson duration, you'll see their available time slots.

Reviews

Can I leave a review?

Yes. After a lesson completes, you will see a 'Leave a review' option on your bookings page. Reviews help other students find the right tutor.

Can reviews be edited or removed?

Once submitted, reviews cannot be edited. If you believe a review violates our guidelines, contact us and we'll investigate.

Account & settings

How do I update my profile?

Go to Dashboard → Settings to update your name, phone number, and profile photo.

How do I become a tutor?

Sign up for a tutor account and complete the onboarding process, which includes connecting a Stripe account so you can receive payouts.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us at support@tutorvine.co.uk and we'll process your account deletion within 30 days in line with your rights under UK GDPR.
